Conquering COVID Part 1.4: 40+ Reasons Why a Vaccine Could & Should Work Read Part 1.4 of Conquering COVID, “40+ reasons why a vaccine could & should work?!” (aka the virus is currently NOT a chameleon), some important comments regarding the coronavirus, cancer patients, and safety from Dr. Mark A. Moyad at https://conta.cc/2UAxEzQ.
Bronchiectasis I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis in April 2019 after having a severe case of pneumonia in December 2018 and another case in April 2019. (55 year old woman) I had regular flareups and was sick during most of 2019. I guess I’m fortunate that I have found clearance techniques that work for me on a daily basis which I will list below. Unfortunately I cough and produce phlegm all day long. My family, especially now that we are confined, are very patient but disturbed by my condition. Even if I do clearance therapy in the morning and at night I still produce phlegm during the day. I just want to stop coughing all day long and better control my cough without pharmaceuticals. All of the therapies work well for me, but the cough is affecting me at work at play and at home. Any suggestions to control my cough? I use ALL of these techniques/lifestyle everyday to control mucus/phlegm production and clearance as well as flareups: Nebulizer with saline (mostly at night) Acappella device (day and/or night) Cool mist at night for sleeping Saline in the nose at night I drink a lot of water and hot tea Mucinex, just the expectorant, almost daily. (I monitor the consistency of the mucus I produce and will take 600 to 1200 mg once a day per my doctor) 24 hour allergy tablet. It prevents nasal congestion. Hot steam from tea or just water Vicks vapor rub on my chest or a little under my nose at bedtime when I need a boost. Healthy diet with mostly fruits and vegetables (I also started researching foods that cause inflammation hoping this might make a difference as well. I try to avoid all dairy.) Exercise!!! When I don’t move I get an excessive amount of mucus back up. Then I have a flareup. There’s a direct correlation. At Planet Fitness I use a Hydro table which has forced jets of water that move the full length of the body or they can be adjusted to focus on one area of the body. I focus on my back to get the lower, middle and upper respiratory area for at least five minutes. Planet fitness also has Brookstone type massage chairs that have tapping on the upper back and I sit in the chair for 10 minutes after the Hydro bed. The massage feels great on my muscles that are sore from coughing all day. Both therapies do a great job moving the mucus with less effort from coughing. (A black membership includes unlimited use of both the table and chair as well as full use of the gym and a trainer for only $22/month and a $35 annual fee. Can’t beat that! It’s just too bad the gym closed because of the coronavirus pandemic!) The best exercise for me is to go for walks and work outside on the property. I always wear a bandanna or mask when I work outside because of the allergens. I hope this information helps in someway. My regiment has been a work in progress this first year as I experienced the disease and how my body responds to it and the treatments. It sounds like a lot but becomes routine and doesn’t seem to take much effort or time. All of this aside, having bronchiectasis really sucks and I hate it but I have no choice but to manage it and stay positive!) I’m really hoping someone has suggestions to help me control my cough better. Please reach out if you have any. Thank you!

Is my medical history putting me in more danger?i A few years ago i had pneumonia and had to have a lobectomy. I had chest tubes draining fluid for 3 weeks. Im also an ex smoker of over 20 yrs. Im curious if that puts me in more danger of cov-19 would that be an underlying condition. If so would you recommend that i take greater precautions and stay at home? I am already constantly out of breath
