Double-check the visiting policy at the care facility.

If an elderly friend or loved one is staying at a nursing home, call the facility to see what their current policies are in regards to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ask about specific visiting hours, as well as the best way to get in contact with specific residents. If you feel like you’re coming down with something, avoid scheduling any in-person visit with senior family and friends.

Write down the number of the care facility so you can have it on hand. Additionally, make sure the nursing home has your contact info, so they can call you in case of any emergency.
If the facility isn’t allowing visitors, be sure to respect their policy. While it’s definitely frustrating and saddening to be separated from a loved one, remember that the rule is in place to keep everyone safe.
